About the UK
The island nation is situated off the mainland Europe’s northwest coast. The United Kingdom includes all of Britain’s territory–including England, Wales, and Scotland–and the northern part of Ireland. The British name is sometimes used as a whole for the UK. The capital is London, one of the leading hubs worldwide for commerce, finance and culture. The main cities include England Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester and in North Ireland, Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland Belfast and Londonderry and in Swansea and Cardiff in Wales.
The origins of the United Kingdom date from the time of King Athelstan, an Anglo-Saxon, who in the early 10th CE secured the adhesion of the Celtic neighboring Kingdoms and became, in the words of a contemporary chronicle, “the first to govern what so many kings shared before.” During the next few decades, territories further away became English territory by subsequent conquest. Wales was officially united with England in the Acts of Union of 1536 and 1542 by a coalition of Celtic tribes in the South-West of Great Britain. Scotland, ruled by the United Kingdom in 1603, was officially replaced in 1707 by England and Wales. Ireland came under English control during the 1600s, and was formally united with Great Britain through the Act of Union of 1800. (The adjective British was then adopted to refer to all the peoples of the Kingdom) By 1922, however, six of Ulster’s nine counties remained as Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom. It became autonomous. Contentious and, at times, open rebellion and even warfare have defined relations between these constituent states and England. These tensions relaxed somewhat during the late 20th century when devolved assemblies were introduced in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Nevertheless, the relations of Northern Ireland unionists (who tended to favor British control over Northern Ireland) and nationalists (who supported unification with the Republic of Ireland) remained strained through the 21st century, even when the assembly had been established following referendums in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The UK, especially in technology and industry, has made significant contributions to the world economy. Yet, since the Second World War, the major cultural exports of the UK have included literature, theater, films, television, and popular music from all over the world. The English language, now spoken as one of the world’s leading cultural and economic exchanges in every corner of the world, is perhaps Britain’s biggest export.

Required document to study in the UK
The required documentation for your study in the UK depends on your country of origin and the duration of your stay. Scandinavian and EU / EEA people do not need to have anything other than a valid passport to enter the UK (even though some steps may have to be introduced upon arrival). For more details please see below:
Here is everything:
- Copy of passport/visa
- Transcript of Academic.
- Certificate of graduation.
- Certificate of IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Test/Other.
- Reference letters.
- Personal statement.
- CV (if applicable)
When applying to UK universities, a personal statement is required. This needs students to write down what they want to do, what they want to do, and why they apply. After the course.
References are usually written by someone who knows you academically or professionally. Most references will talk about you from a teacher’s or supervisor’s perspective: the way in which you interact with other students and your performance in classes and seminars.
Your reference does not have to be academic, but if you’re studying or have recently completed school or college, an academic reference is expected. Choosing the right referee is crucial for your application to university.
